The Annapolis Summit has ended.  The leaders and dignitaries have boarded their planes and headed back to the Middle East.  But Annapolis was not the end of a renewed peace process, it was only the beginning.  The Annapolis Summit was the kickoff of what will be many months of negotiations and diplomatic maneuvering filled with requests that Israel give up strategic territory and divide Jerusalem. 

 

Mark my words, the day will soon come when the Palestinians will make demands to which Israel does not want to submit.  At that juncture, the Palestinians and their allies will call the White House and ask America to pressure Israel to accept their position.  There are a large number of Arab and Muslim nations ready to take the Palestinian side.  But there is only one Israel.  Israel will always be outnumbered!

 

When this day comes, who will take Israel's side?  Who will stand with Israel?   

 

We believe that Christians United for Israel was created for such a time as this.  CUFI will take Israel's side. CUFI will make Israel's case.  CUFI will be a counterweight to the calls to pressure Israel coming from the Arab and Muslim world.  

 

 

In the weeks and months ahead, CUFI's Washington team is going to have to monitor the peace process very closely.  They are going to have to be in constant contact with people involved in the talks at many different levels and in many different countries.  They are going to have to be ready to sound the alarm if and when it appears that America is being asked to pressure Israel. 

 

At the same time, our national field team must continue to build the CUFI grassroots network so that when we need to speak up for Israel, we will do so on behalf of an ever increasing number of Christians.  

 

All of these efforts take money, and a lot of it.  We know that Israel's enemies have the resources to make their voices heard.  But will we?  Please stand with us as we stand with Israel.  Please include CUFI in your end-of-year giving plans.
