The Senate reconvenes on Tuesday, September 5; the House reconvenes on September 6.

Democrats Stonewall Legislation
September 5, 2006 – The Democrats are planning on an unprecedented campaign of stonewalling legislation and smearing President Bush’s policies, administration officials, and congressional leaders before Congress goes on recess for the mid-term elections.
The Democrats are going to use the war in Iraq as an excuse to bottle-up important legislation while they propose resolutions to condemn various aspects of the war on terrorism.
The latest attack is to condemn the President for giving speeches explaining to the American people why the battle against terrorism in Iraq is important—and why it is better to fight terrorism overseas than in our city streets.
Democrats have already attempted to obstruct our nation’s terrorism surveillance program; oppose sound policies in the Patriot Act; and have blocked the confirmation of experts on anti-terrorism to the Justice Department. Among those is Kenneth Wainstein, a veteran federal prosecutor.
Senator Carl Levin (D-MI), for example, has put a “hold” on no fewer than four Bush nominees for sensitive national security posts.
Democrats appear to be willing to undermine our national security in order to punish President Bush and to win elections in November.
Democrats have also vowed to block the confirmation of Ambassador John Bolton to retain his position as our U.N. Ambassador.
The Smear Of Secretary Of Defense Donald Rumsfeld Begins Soon
Democrats are planning on attacking Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld when they return to Washington, DC this week. Their effort is designed to delay passage of important legislation by demanding a “no confidence” vote on Rumsfeld’s performance as Defense Secretary.
The Washington Post has detailed this strategy to smear Secretary Rumsfeld as a way of delaying votes on important pro-family legislation.
The Post notes that Congress has defense spending bills, legislation to authorize the National Security Agency’s wiretapping and a bill to bring President Bush’s military tribunals into compliance with a recent Supreme Court ruling. Instead, the Democrats will try to get a “no confidence” vote against Rumsfeld as a way of energizing far left liberals in political races throughout the U.S.
House Majority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) says “Now is not the time for a weak and indecisive approach that has been offered by Capitol Hill Democrats, and that’s why Republicans are working to keep America safe through policies based on strength and purpose, rather than confusion and defeat.”
Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) is expected to offer a resolution calling for the resignation of Secretary Rumsfeld during the week of September 5th. This will be the opening shot by the Democrats against Bush administration officials and political leaders.
Democrats will try to stonewall business in the Senate until the mid-term election recess. They will use their time in the Senate as a soap box to push their own political agendas.

AND WE’RE ALSO WORKING TO KEEP THE PRESSURE ON THE GOVERNOR TO VETO AB 606 AND AB 1056.
AB 606 removes the only language protecting a school from being forced to propagandize children with homosexuality. Homosexual education forced on schools by broad powers given to State Superintendent of Schools.
AB 1056 pretends to promote tolerance and acceptance of all people except it is a thinly-disguised program to finance a massive pro-homosexual training initiative in California’s schools.
The bill authorizes $25,000 grants to ten schools, working with human relations commissions, to create “tolerance” programs for students. This curriculum will eventually be in all the schools forcing students to “convey respect” not just “tolerance” for lifestyles which violate their religious beliefs.
