Board members, staff, and volunteers at the new Creation Museum in northern Kentucky say skeptics who take the time to tour the 60,000-square-foot facility are impressed. Allie Martin, OneNewsNow.com via Newsbull.com, May 29, 2007
The president of Answers in Genesis says he's not surprised that protestors turned out for the opening of the Creation Museum. But Ken Ham finds it ironic that one group claiming to be defending constitutional freedom wants to silence the creation story. Continue.
A World Where Lies Are True
Chris Hedges, Truthdig, March 26, 2007
Before they seize power and establish a world according to their doctrines, totalitarian movements conjure up a lying world of consistency which is more adequate to the needs of the human mind than reality itself; in which, through sheer imagination, uprooted masses can feel at home and are spared the never-ending shocks which real life and real experiences deal to human beings and their expectations. The force possessed by totalitarian propaganda—before the movements have the power to drop iron curtains to prevent anyone’s disturbing, by the slightest reality, the gruesome quiet of an entirely imaginary world -- lies in its ability to shut the masses off from the real world. ()Hannah Arendt, "The Origins of Totalitarianism")
In the middle of the lobby of the 50,000-square-foot Creation Museum in Petersburg, Ky., a 20-foot waterfall tumbles. Two life-size figures of children with long black hair and in buckskin clothes play in the stream a few feet from two towering Tyrannosaurus Rex models that can move and roar. The museum, which cost $25 million to build and has a sea of black asphalt parking lots for school buses, has a scale model of Noah’s ark that shows how Noah solved the problem of fitting dinosaurs into the three levels of the vessel—he loaded only baby dinosaurs. And on the wooden model, infant dinosaurs cavort with horses, giraffes, hippopotamuses, penguins and bears. There is an elaborate display of the Garden of Eden, where Adam and Eve, naked but strategically positioned so as not to display breasts or genitals, swim in a river as giant dinosaurs and lizards roam the banks. Creation Museum already Expanding prior to May Opening
by Michael Ireland, ASSIST News Service via Crosswalk.com, no date (ca. March 2007)
PETERSBURG, KENTUCKY -- Although its doors have yet to open, the high-tech Creation Museum near Cincinnati, Ohio, is already expanding by 20 percent – adding about 10,000 square feet inside the state-of-the-art facility.
The scheduled opening is set for Memorial Day, May 28, according to officials with Answers in Genesis, the museum’s builder. The ministry notes that initial interest in the museum is such that some parts of it (including the parking area) are not large enough to handle the anticipated crowds on the busiest days. As a result, there will now be nearly 60,000 square feet to handle the expected turnout. Continue.

Creation center says he sneaked in
By Dylan T. Lovan, Associated Press, nky.cincinnati.com, February 10, 2007
PETERSURG - Comedian Bill Maher has made a career out of mocking religion, but the founder of the Bible-based history museum isn't laughing.
Christian publisher Ken Ham said Maher showed up unannounced this week to videotape an interview with him at the Creation Museum.
The $25 million center, scheduled to open in June, tells visitors that the earth is just a few thousand years old and that Adam and Eve lived among the dinosaurs. Continue.
Human Evolution Exhibit to Butt Heads with Creation Museum
By Kevin Jackson, Christian Post, February 9, 2007, Correction appended
NEW YORK – The American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) in New York, one of the world’s most recognized science centers, will unveil its new human evolution exhibit this coming Saturday.
Through fossil evidence as well as DNA and genomic research, the Anne and Bernard Spitzer Hall of Human Origins focuses on showing the evolution of mankind.
"I think this is the first major exhibition in the world where the fossil evidence and the genomic science are brought together to tell a mutually reinforcing story," museum President Ellen Futter said Tuesday at a media preview. "Bringing the two stories together is extraordinarily powerful."
The new wing, whose concept many Christians disagree with, will soon be competing with another upcoming museum that will attempt to defend creation also by examining fossils, animals, stars and natural science. The Creation Museum, which will open Memorial Day 2007, is being built outside Cincinnati by Answers in Genesis (AiG) - an apologetics ministry that focuses particularly on providing answers to questions surrounding the book of Genesis. 'Creation museum' to open in Ky.
UPI via Monsters and Critics, December 13, 2006
(UPI) -- A new high-tech Creation Museum is due to open in Kentucky next May, aiming to provide the grandest riposte yet to Darwinian evolutionary theory. But secular scientists would take issue with the use of either word to describe the almost completed building that stands just a few miles west of Cincinnati, on the borders of Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.
